The team has been hard at work, attaching the solar pannels to the supports. You can see in these pictures that each large pannel is made of smaller ones.
Our solar electricity will be created by using Photovoltaic or PV technology, by converting solar energy into solar electricity from sunlight.
These pannels are made up of Monocrystalline Silicon Cells. These are made using cells saw-cut from a single cylindrical crystal of silicon, this is the most efficient of the PV technologies. Though the manufacturing process required to produce monocrystalline silicon is complicated, resulting in slightly higher costs than other technologies, the principle advantage of monocrystalline cells are their high efficiencies, typically around 15%.
