Classic Creamed Corn Recipe
Ingredients
- 2 strips of applewood smoked bacon
- 3 cups of fresh native corn
- 1 cup of half & half
- 1 tablespoon of cornstarch
Directions
- In a medium sauce pan, break the bacon up into small pieces, put them into the pan and render them down.
- Remove the bacon from the pan.
- Put the fresh native corn into the pan, with the bacon drippings, and sauté for 3 minutes.
- Whisk together the half n’ half and the cornstarch.
- Add the cornstarch mixture to the sautéed corn.
- Simmer till the mixture is thickened, approx. 5-6 minutes.
- Season with salt and pepper and garnish with the crispy bacon.
